Tonight’s quick and simple ‘YUM’ is slightly adapted from an old advertisement for Chipits I tore out of a magazine years ago.  I used bittersweet chocolate but you can use semisweet or milk chocolate.

To get started preheat your oven to 350F and pull out a 13×9-inch pan.

Mix together in a medium bowl:

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

Whisk this together with a fork and cut in 3/4 cup cold butter that has been cut into small pieces.  Use a pastry blender or your fingertips until mixture is crumbly.  Press into 13×9-inch pan and bake about 15-20 minutes until golden brown.


In medium sauce pan over medium to medium-low heat cook 1 can sweetened condensed milk with 2 tablespoons butter and stir constantly for about 5-10 minutes until mixture is thickened.

Spread the topping over the baked base and return to the oven for about 10-15 minutes.  Mixture will go golden around the edges.

In a microwave safe bowl melt 1 cup bittersweet chocolate and spread over the baked mixture.  Sprinkle about 1 cup of Skor bits on top of melted chocolate to cover surface and gently press down.

Cool bars and chill in fridge before cutting into squares.
