M&M Bars and George Clooney!?

Have you ever seen George Clooney with his shirt off?  Not sure why this question has been plaguing me since his marriage to the beautiful Amal but as we know there is no explanation for the workings of my mind. For some reason this stuck in my head and on a sleepless night I started searching the web.  Please know I was looking at recipes first before I started looking for topless photos of GC.

It seems all the beautiful intelligent and gorgeous women Georgie Porgie has dated in the past could not hold a candle to  Amal, the Lebanese-born British human rights attorney.  Really, really…I find it hard to believe that Stacey Keibler, DeDee Pfeirrfer (Michelle’s sister), Kimberely Russell, Denise Crosby, Kelly Preston (yes, now wife of John Travolta), Talia Balsam (whom he did wed), Karen Duffy, Brooke Langton, Traylor Howard, Celine Balitran (law student and waitress he met in Paris), model Lisa Snowdon, a brief time with Renee Zellwegger (before she married Kenny Chesney…rumour was she was rebounding from Curious George breaking her heart), Jennifer Siebel, Teri Hatcher of Desperate Housewife fame , and it would seem quite a few more younger, beautiful, intelligent women, with educations, talent and successful careers were just somehow not the one.

But back to George with no shirt.  Why do we always see photos of him in a suit and tie.  A very well fitting suit and tie but still fully clothed none the less.  There are photos of his friends, such as Matt Damon and others, jumping off his yacht into the sea, sans shirts, while visiting our dashing handsome George but never a sign of Mr. Clooney.  I don’t think its a privacy thing or he wouldn’t have made such a huge ‘show’ of his wedding.

So this has me wondering….does he have man boobs, a pot belly perhaps, varicose veins, no muscle tone?!   Doesn’t he know he can afford a personal trainer and liposuction to fix it.  I’m pretty sure he is doing some teeth whitening and a little botox, ok a lot of botox and some filler, so he is not adverse to help.  He is middle aged after all (what can I say…misery loves company).  Even looking at his wedding photos he does look great with his perfectly placed laugh lines by his pretty eyes and perhaps 1 or 2 faint creases on his tanned brow to show his maturity, and why his veneers are flawless, BUT he still looks 50ish and Amal looks like she is maybe, tops 30 years, so I thought the photos look more like the bride and her father.  I even googled George Clooney with no shirt and one older somewhat blah pic turned up.  How is that possible?!

What is it with these men?  I guess if you can date young, beautiful and intelligent women indefinitely why not.  Do they get to mid 50’s and then realize pickings may be getting slim and it is time to put a ring on it.  Look at Michael Douglas, Rod Stewart (not sure if he counts as he just keeps getting married and producing offspring) and Warren Beatty, Jack Nicolson…athough I think he just produced and didn’t marry; but he might have some issues as he found out as an adult the woman who he thought was his sister was really his mother and the woman who he believed to be his mom was his grandmother.

OK enough about George but if you do find a pic let me know.  Now it is time to move on to my other obsession, baking.

Easy Sweet M&M Bars

These are gooey, chewy, sweet and easy.  You can use chocolate chips, butterscotch chips or like me Holiday M&M’s.

You will need a 13 x 9-inch pan lined with parchment (up the sides as well), a preheated oven to 350F and the following:

1/2 cup butter, melted

1 1/2 cups graham wafer crumbs

Mix these together with a fork and press into bottom of prepared pan.

Sprinkle with 1 cup chopped nuts (I used pecans), 1 cup coconut and 1 cup of M&M’s (plain).  Pour 1 can of sweetened condensed milk evenly over the top and bake for about 25-30 minutes until edges go brown and there is some colour on the surface.

Cool completely before cutting into bars.  These freeze beautifully.

Now what to do with the left over candies…why oatmeal cookies, of course!Holiday Oatmeal Cookies
